Clachan Yell in Glen Tanar

I only had one taker for the day walk choices and Irene opted for the Clachan Yell suggestion. We had a glorious 9am start with blue skies and light winds as we headed up the valley south south west to Clachan Yell. We met a fellow GT resident at the old church at the beginning of the walk and shortly after another dog walker but then it was just us on the track. As we gained some height we came across puddles with frogs' spawn in them but also some other spheres that neither of us had seen before:

Can anyone help? They seemed to b old eggs about the size of a Malteser lying in the bottom of the puddle.

Some of them had a sort of turquiose centre to them but most were 'broken' and lying at the bottom of the puddle. A mystery to both of us.
We carried on and turned off the track to hike up to the top of Clachan Yell where we had lunch and admired the views - see below! We thought we'd carry on along the track to descend to The Tanar a kilometer SW of Etnach which showed a ford.

However the ford was quite deep and the water fast flowing and neither of us wanted to get wet feet so we we scrambled along the nearer side through thigh high heather (difficult for us shorties) until we reached the bridge. We stopped to refuel before stomping back along the track to the car park.
It was a good day's walk!

View from the top.
